Slift
Slift is a trio from Toulouse, France, making heavy psychedelic rock that grew out of punk and stretched into jams, steered by 1970s German krautrock, Miles Davis and prog. Its records are science-fiction voyages, Ummon drawing on Homer’s Odyssey, and the band plays them loud: it doesn’t want to “recreate the record on stage,” treating the album as an intimate headphone experience and the show as something felt through volume and vibration. Fantasia (2026) is its newest.
“Toulouse psych trio on a US run from St. Paul to San Francisco behind Fantasia.”
