Poison Ruïn
Poison Ruïn is a Philadelphia punk band built around Mac Kennedy, who wraps raw, riff-driven punk in medieval and dungeon-synth imagery — knights, ruins, old myth standing in for modern alienation, recorded to sound like a buried artifact. Live, the band leans into that same intensity rather than smoothing it out, pushing right to the edge of what it can pull off. Their latest album, Hymns From The Hills (2026), sends that mythology into “sunless deserts” and half-real landscapes — the fullest version of that world yet.

Mix/master engineer credits and a Mac Kennedy quote about the recording process were also on this page but left out of the draft as not the kind of detail that makes someone want to listen. - https://www.blackcatdc.com/shows/ceremony.html

Ticketmaster & Songkick listings for the Oct 3 Union Transfer date corroborate the same package for Philadelphia; the venue's own page (AXS) blocked automated access. - https://stereogum.com/2219000/poison-ruin-harvest-interview/interviews/band-to-watch
Basis for the live-intensity sentence — paraphrases Kennedy's own quote about pushing “as far as energy” live.
