Kostnatění
Kostnatění, a one-man project from Minneapolis, pushes dissonant black metal through microtonal Turkish folk melody and North African rhythm. Guitar lines bend outside Western tuning over patterns that refuse to settle, and the riffs are catchy and baffling at once. Where the genre reaches for the occult, the dread here is secular and existential: Úpal (2023) was built to evoke searing desert sun and a mind coming apart.
“Minneapolis's most adventurous one-man black metal, live in Seattle.”
